Ruffner Mountain

Hannah requested that I write a post about our recent trips to Ruffner Mountain. But first I want to start off by saying this:
Our Granddad was the first to introduce us to Ruffner Mountain. We have been hiking there for as long as I can remember. Granddad was a volunteer at Ruffner Mountain and used to take us on all kinds of hikes! He is known for taking "short cuts" when we go hiking and them actually being "long cuts". Hehe. I know you will probably read this, Granddad :)
We would also go with him to dig up some of the nandina bushes around Ruffner that were unwanted and then he would plant them in his backyard. We still talk about that whenever we see one while we are hiking.
So, here are a few pictures from the past couple of trips we have taken to Ruffner Mountain. We usually don't bother bringing a camera since we have been so many times. We will have to do better next time!

The last time we went hiking, we looked all over for Turtle Rock. We kept thinking we may have missed it until...... Nope! Can't miss that! How cool!!!!

Sidney took this picture without me knowing.... I was caught being silly. What do ya know ;) Mr. Turtle was chewing on my head!!!

Yes... I'm the only one with pictures of bonding with Turtle Rock because, well, turtles are my favorite and Hannah and Sidney weren't nearly as excited about it as I was!

On another hike we found The Crusher (an old ore crusher).

Cheers!
